MET Bag

PICU Charge Nurses,

We are looking to improve the quality of care we provide during MET calls. We may see an increase in the amount of MET calls we receive in the upcoming months in part to many different initiatives happening in the Children's Hospital right now (i.e. sim lab, PEWS scoring, and a first five minutes class). If you have any questions about any of those initiatives, I would be happy to answer questions!

With that being said, we are putting together a MET bag that will brought to all MET responses. I am looking for ideas of what you would like to have in the bag. Some suggestions so far were IV start supplies, I/O needle, leads and BP cuffs, etc. Please comment on this post, email me, or catch me in person with your ideas.

We are also considering bringing the portable Zoll (defibrillator) to all calls. This Zoll has monitoring capabilities including telemetry, sats, and BP. More information to come!

  1. LOVE this idea!Flushes should def. be added! And could we put it together in a clear bag somehow (like the roll up kind for toiletries or something)? That way everything would be easily seen.
