I have hired several staff this week and will make one more RN I offer for the PICU on Monday. The new hires are as follows:
7C Part-time PCT: Britton Bickley - starts orientation November3rd pay period
7C RN I - Patrice Williams - transfers in from Meduflex on November 17th pay period
PICU RN II - Emily White - transfers in from the adult ED on November 3rd pay period
Also, we are continuing to fight to keep a unit secretary in the PICU. That will go before the MUHA position review committee again on Tuesday. I have approval to hire a unit secretary on 7C, but have to wait for a final disposition on the PICU position to post that job. The rumors that 7C is not getting a unit secretary are completely untrue. In the meantime, we will all have to pull together to cover the desk and any extra PICU ancillary staff will float down to help.
