Notice of Physician's Note for any call out during the holidays

Please read the notice below.  This will be strictly enforced for the entire holiday season.  We have many staff already in or teetering on disciplinary action for attendance.  Please note that unless you are in some sort of accident (God forbid) and unable to return to Charleston, I will be checking to see that the excuse is from a local physician and is on or immediately before the date of the call out.  Thus, you cannot call out one day and not go see an MD until the next day and have them back date the excuse.  With the holidays during the middle of the week this year, there might be a tendency for people to call out on shifts surrounding the holiday to have a longer stretch off.  Please know that calling out on any shift during the weeks noted below will be subject to disciplinary action without a valid physician's excuse.  Also remember that if you get a holiday, it will most likely be on call and you will have to be able to come in to work within one hour of being called.
