Chain of Command Review

Please remember to follow the proper chain of command if you are questioning the orders/actions of a student, intern, resident or fellow. The proper procedure is to call one step above the physician in question. If you are still concerned, then proceed step by step up the chain all the way to the attending for that service if necessary. Please do not contact any consulting physicians or another team before you have spoken to the PICU attending (for all PICU patients)or the attending of service for the 7C patients. Failing to do so potential puts the resident at odds with their own attending and undermines trust. Of course I am 100% behind you questioning anything that doesn't seem right to you. Even if you are incorrect, as long as the process is followed correctly and you are respectful at all times, I have your back. Please let me know if you have questions.
