Chemotherapy

IMPORTANT:  All chemotherapy drugs, ORAL and IV, need to be given by a chemo-certified nurse.  Hydroxyurea is chemotherapy (anti-metabolite) and cannot be given by PICU or 7C nurses.  All chemotherapy medications should be labeled with a chemotherapy sticker.  If it does not come labeled as chemotherapy, please let pharmacy know and complete a PSN when appropriate.  This is extremely important- administering this drug, and other chemotherapy drugs without chemo-certification is against hospital policy https://www.musc.edu/medcenter/policy/Med/C088.pdf
