Employee & Medical Staff Survey
Please see Dr. Cawley's note below. You will receive an email link to the 100% anonymous survey. Remember I do not see any individual comments or demographic data...just the overall scores in each category. This is your chance to speak up and help our team make improvement plans for the next year. My #1 goal is to have greater than 90% participation on both units so we have a true representation of how we are doing and what we need to do better.

Dear MUSC Medical Center Team,
Our employees
and physicians are our most valuable resource! Employee and physician
commitment and satisfaction are essential to delivering the important
mission of MUSC. I am deeply
committed to this and expect that our leadership actions focus on
these areas. This past year, we took a number of actions to improve
employee engagement. First and most important is that every work
group should have a plan, which the leader you report to led and
implemented. Second, we have had a senior management plan.
Today you will
receive an email from Morehead Associates/Press Ganey, a national
survey research firm, to gather employee and medical staff opinions.
This survey is a great opportunity to share your perceptions across a
variety of key areas that affect your satisfaction, which will help
MUSC Medical Center improve your workplace. I encourage each of you
to participate in this important survey - I value your input and look
forward to hearing from you.
For
clarification of key terms in the survey, when you see the term:
- Organization:
Consider your primary employer, i.e. the MUSC Medical Center
(MUHA)
- Senior Management: Consider
the CEO/Executive Director and Administrators of the MUSC
Medical Center.
- The person I report to: Consider
the person you report to directly; the person who conducts your
performance evaluation. (Whose name is identified in the email
you received from Morehead/PressGaney.)
- Work unit:
Consider the group of employees you work with on a regular
basis, usually reporting to one leader.
- Employees:
Consider the people who work at MUSC Medical Center, the College
of Medicine, and MUSC Physicians.
- Customer:
Consider patients, families, visitors, vendors, residents,
community, and fellow employees.
- Interprofessional teamwork: The
work required when job tasks involve employees with different
job duties/responsibilities.
The survey
will be administered online. For technical or PIN assistance, feel

option 1.
For employees
who don't have a personal workstation with a computer, we have
reserved several computer rooms to offer computer access to take the

CONFIDENTIALITY
--> We are committed to ensuring the confidentiality of all
individual survey responses - all survey data is kept on a Morehead
Associates/Press Ganey server and is not accessible by anyone at
MUSC, MUSC Physicians, or MUHA.
All survey responses must be received by Monday, February 24, 2014.
