Department Renovation
The Sterile Processing
Department (SPD) in Children's hospital is beginning a renovation that is
expected to last until
June 1, 2014. In preparation for the renovation, SPD has
opened a second temporary storage area in room 394 of the main hospital.
Departments that currently drop off and pick up processed instruments at
Children's SPD will need to adhere to the following procedure until renovation
is completed:
- Contaminated trays -> All contaminated trays are turned into the SPD decontamination area that is accessed on the first floor of children's hospital near the service elevators.
- Clean trays -> Departments will pick-up trays and equipment from room 394, Temporary SPD Storage, once the trays have been processed.
