There have been several incidents of Clindamycin glass
bottles not infusing. Jill Thompson did some investigating and found that when
the filter on the secondary tubing is wet (from back-priming) the vial will not
infuse.
The solution is that for now we will need to use *A NEW
SECONDARY SET WITH EACH CLINDAMYCIN INFUSION when it is in the glass bottle*.
Back-prime the new secondary set as you
normally would until the primary solution is partially into the chamber (and
not all the way full). Hope this helps to guarantee our patients get their
